Chéri & Almond (@chewyalmon) is a social media account created by Vanya that explores various mental health struggles and promotes positive rethinking through simple digital illustrations and animations created using Procreate. This work tells a symbolic fictional story with various underlying metaphors based on the experiences and struggles of a child raised by caregivers with mental health challenges, as well as their journey of self-acceptance and breaking the cycle of trauma.
Packaging Illustration Competition, 2024
Vanya’s “Jarane Jan Thil-Thilan Tenan!” is a digital illustration created for a Teh Botol Sosro competition, celebrating Indonesian culture through the theme “Semangat Emas Asli Indonesia” (The True Golden Spirit of Indonesia). The artwork showcases the energetic spirit of Gunung Kidul youth performing the Jathilan dance as part of the Rasulan tradition, a post-harvest celebration following the Indonesian Independence Day festivities. Created using Procreate, the illustration was then applied to a Teh Botol packaging mockup.
Fashion Illustration, 2024
Vanya created a versatile fashion illustration for Studio Nyata, showcasing traditional Central Javanese wedding attire. The illustration utilizes male and female base templates that can be adapted to suit the unique characteristics of different clients, including variations in facial features, height, and body size. This digital artwork was produced using Procreate.
