Tak Harus Sama

Picturebook, 2024

Sawsan collaborated with the Language Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) to develop a children’s picture book for the 2024 National Literacy Movement (GLN). The story, titled Rumpa si Kelinci Bulan dan Kelinci Dami (Rumpa the Moon Rabbit and Dami the Rabbit), follows Rumpa, a moon rabbit, as she journeys to Earth. There, she meets Dami, an Earth rabbit. Though they share long ears and a love for hopping, they soon discover their differences. This project aimed to promote literacy among young readers.

Pentas

Illustration, 2024

In this illustration, Sawsan presents an alternate reality where the roles are reversed: humans are placed in positions of exploitation, mirroring the treatment of animals like dolphins in entertainment. This thought-provoking piece encourages viewers to consider the ethical implications of using other beings for amusement.

We Shall Someday Return

Illustration, 2023
