Zigni, Eritrean Cuisine Cooking Show

Video, 2025

Eritrea, a small country in East Africa, is rich in culture and history. For Eritreans, food isn’t just about eating, it’s a way to preserve stories and traditions. Whenever Zahra cooks Zigni, she is reminded of her grandmother’s advice and her stories about life in Eritrea. Food has always been central to her family gatherings, whether at weddings, holidays, or celebrating a new baby. Living far from home, cooking these dishes helps Zahra stay connected to Eritrea. She made the storyboard, recorded the footage, and edited the video.
