The founding members of refu+ure are passionate in both creative works ✨ and education 📖 that empowers ⚡. We are illustrators, graphic designers, videographers, and graduates majoring in art and education. We believe this is not a coincidence, and utilize these two aspects as refu+ure’s strategic arsenal.
At refu+ure, our doors are open to all for a journey into possibilities and growth through our classes, library, and studio.

Born as a student collective
Our story began in 2019. refu+ure founder spent three weeks of life-changing experience as a volunteer teacher at the Refugee Learning Center (RLC), Cisarua. Afterwards, she and her classmates formed a student collective collaborating with RLC to create a painting workshop and an art exhibition.
Forming mutual bond in one-on-one class
Our refugee friends pushed refu+ure further by asking: "Can you open a private class?". Hence, during the pandemic, we opened drawing classes and Indonesian language and culture classes for our refugee friends. Our beginning formed what became our mission: a joint initiative and mutual embrace, both for refugees and the Indonesian community.

Inspired by the hope and resilience of our refugee friends and the energy and curiosity of our Indonesian friends, we decided to recruit more people and restructurize the organization, formulate the best programs we can offer based on the strength we have as a team, and tried and true a program to see the potential we believe we have...
refu+ure officially gained status as a non-profit organization!
On 17 January 2024, we are officially registered as a non-profit organization (yayasan) at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Republic of Indonesia, ready to serve you with better arsenal in our hands!
Our journey is rooted in the values of truth, goodness, beauty, and fairness, adhered to religious values and teachings, taught and polished by various wisdom and encounters in lives. 💫
These values guide us, as we trust in the profound impact of knowledge, creativity, and empowerment, paving the way for growth, genuine connections, impactful actions, and lives full of meanings.
We’re not all serious here. Laughter is our companion, a reminder that joy is essential in our quest for making mistakes and grow. We aim to bring meaning into every little thing we share and work on.
