A biography of one of Tahir’s friends, a child who loved reading and writing and was always busy with schoolwork. (‘Nemat’ is not his real name—Tahir borrowed it from his refu+school classmate Nemat). One day, a tragic accident changed everything—a Taliban bomb targeted the character’s school. Fortunately, he was on leave that day because he was ill, but sadly, many other children lost their lives in the attack. The news devastated his parents, who decided to leave Afghanistan to secure a better future for their children. Tahir wrote the script, and designed and colorized the illustration.
